Product description
3003 aluminium foil at 0.04 mm in H16 is technical stock for parts that must keep their shape, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
3003 carries manganese, and that is the whole reason it is specified here. The addition raises strength and holds it after the part is formed, so a gasket tang, a spacer or a folded bracket stays where it was put instead of relaxing back once the tool opens.
H16 is an intermediate strain-hardened temper rather than the hardest one available. It gives the part stiffness as it leaves the roll and still leaves room to bend and fold without cracking at the radius. Where a part needs to be harder still, a heavier temper in the same gauge band is specified instead.
At 0.04 mm the foil is thick enough to be handled as a part rather than as a web. It cuts cleanly, it holds a burr-free edge, and it can be stamped, punched or folded on tooling that would mark a thinner ply.
Technical foil is usually judged on what happens at the edge and at the joint: whether the cut edge is straight, whether the part sits flat against the mating face, and whether the joint stays tight after assembly and thermal cycling. Those questions belong to the customer's design and tooling, and they are what we specify against.
Typical uses include gasket tangs, technical spacers and formed parts where stiffness matters more than ductility.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the part drawing, the width and the joint, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
