<p>Industrial and technical foil is bought against performance rather than appearance, and the specification usually comes from an engineer rather than a packaging buyer. We supply it from 0.02 mm to 0.2 mm in 1050, 1060, 1100, 3003, 3004 and 8011 alloy, in tempers from O to H24.</p><h2>HVAC, insulation and cable wrap</h2><p>For HVAC duct and pipe insulation the foil has to combine a moisture barrier with enough tensile strength and elongation to survive taping and handling on site, and it is normally supplied as a foil-scrim-kraft facing, a laminate or a vapour barrier. Cable wrap and general industrial wrapping follow much the same logic, where the surface condition of the base foil decides how well a coating or an adhesive adheres.</p><h2>Fin stock for heat exchangers</h2><p>Heat-exchanger fin stock is a different problem again: the material must form into very fine fins without cracking, then accept a hydrophilic coating evenly so condensate drains instead of bridging between fins. Thickness tolerance, flatness and grain structure decide fin height consistency, so they are quoted together with the temper rather than independently.</p><h2>Quoted to order, not from a catalogue</h2><p>Mechanical properties are quoted to order: tensile strength, elongation and, where relevant, the ability to pass a bend or an adhesion test at your process conditions.
