Product description
3003 aluminium foil at 0.15 mm in H18 is heavy technical stock for structural and load-bearing parts, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
This is the gauge where a buyer stops asking what the foil will wrap and starts asking what the part will carry. 3003 answers that with manganese in the alloy: the material is stronger than a plain grade at the same thickness, and it keeps that strength after forming.
H18 is fully hard. The part is expected to come off the tool finished, so there is very little ductility left for a second operation. If a bend or a draw still has to happen after blanking, a softer temper belongs in the enquiry instead.
At 0.15 mm the geometry dominates the specification. How flat the part must sit against a mating face, how straight a long cut edge has to be, and whether the part is stiffened by its own shape or by the assembly around it. A hard heavy gauge will not make up for a tool that was set for thin stock.
The cut edge travels with the part all the way to assembly, so edge condition is specified rather than assumed. A burr that would be harmless on a light foil becomes a fit problem at this gauge.
Typical uses include structural parts, load-bearing panels and stiff spacers where strength and flatness decide the purchase.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the part drawing, the fixing pattern and the edge requirement, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
