3004 aluminium foil at 0.1 mm in H24 is a heavy industrial gauge, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores and available plain or embossed.
The industrial and technical range quotes 0.02 mm to 0.2 mm in 1050, 1060, 1100, 3003, 3004 and 8011 alloy, with temper from O through to H24. At 0.1 mm the foil is past the point where it drapes: it stands on its own edge, takes a fold and holds it, and can be cut and fitted without a backing.
3004 is the manganese-magnesium alloy in that group, and it is chosen where the part has to keep its form under its own weight rather than follow whatever it is laid over. Half-hard H24 gives it enough spring-back that an overlap stays closed once it is folded, which is why it is used for cladding, formed covers and guards rather than for wrapping.
At this gauge the job decides the specification rather than the other way round: the shape being covered, whether the surface will be walked on or worked against, whether the installation is indoors or exposed, and how the seams will be closed. Those answers set the temper and the width, and they are worth settling before the order rather than after.
Typical uses include heavy industrial jacketing, formed covers and guards, and general fabrication where a self-supporting sheet is needed.
