Product description
1050 aluminium foil at 0.15 mm in O temper sits near the top of the foil range, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
At this gauge the thickness is doing the work. A part made from 0.15 mm holds its shape because there is enough metal in it, not because the alloy is strong, and that is exactly why a plain grade is used here. There is nothing in 1050 to fight the tool.
The stock is still supplied coiled and still runs on foil handling equipment, but it behaves like heavy strip on the line. It does not drape, it does not crease the way a thin web does, and it will not follow a sharp radius without a generous tool.
A soft heavy gauge is the right answer when the part has to be drawn deeply and then stay where it was put. It is the wrong answer when the part has to resist a load in service, because a plain grade gains nothing from being thick except weight.
Flatness and edge condition decide the purchase more than the gauge does. A heavy coil that is not flat will not sit in a fixture, and a cut edge that is not clean will show on the finished part.
Typical uses include heavy drawn parts, formed components and spacers where thickness, not alloy strength, provides the rigidity.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the part drawing and the forming route, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
