Product description
1060 aluminium foil at 0.08 mm in O temper is forming stock, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
1060 is the plainest grade in the range and the most forgiving. With almost no alloying addition the metal stays soft and keeps moving under a punch instead of resisting it, which is what a part with a deep draw or a tight radius needs.
At 0.08 mm the material is thick enough to be handled as a strip but still thin enough to be shipped coiled and run on the same line as lighter stock. It sits in the band where a part stops being a wrapping and starts being a component, so the questions that decide a purchase change with it.
The forming tool sets the limit. A soft stock will follow a deep cavity without splitting, but it also has less stiffness of its own, so a shallow unsupported part may need a grade with more strength in it rather than a softer one.
Flatness and a clean surface matter as much as the gauge here. A coil that is not flat will not locate in the tool the same way twice, and a surface that carries residue will show up after forming as a mark the customer sees.
Typical uses include deep-drawn parts, formed components and drawn closures where ductility matters more than strength.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the drawn shape and the tool, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
