Product description
1060 aluminium foil at 0.008 mm in H18 is the thinnest gauge supplied in this alloy, 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
The battery and energy range runs from 0.005 mm to 0.20 mm. At 0.008 mm this product sits close to the thin end, where the foil is used as a thin web inside a component rather than as a structural part.
Thin foil behaves differently from the gauges above it. At this thickness the metal is measured in fractions of a micron on the rolling mill, so gauge consistency across the width and along the roll matters more than any single reading: a light band in the middle of a 1200 mm web shows up as an uneven surface in the finished component, and a heavy band shows up as a bulge that the next process has to flatten.
Handling is the other half of the specification. At 0.008 mm the foil will crease if it is unsupported, so the core, the wind tension and the packing are part of the product rather than an afterthought. Rolls are wound for stable transport and packed on a wooden pallet under a moisture barrier wrap, because a crease or a water stain that arrives with the roll cannot be rolled out later.
H18 is the hard temper supplied here, which keeps the web flat and easy to handle on an unsupported path. Softer tempers are available where the component has to conform to a shape.
Surface condition is agreed rather than assumed. Plain and lacquered finishes are both supplied, and which one is right depends on what the next step does to the surface, not on the gauge.
Typical uses include thin webs for energy components, where the component design calls for a lighter gauge than the standard range.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the process, the width and the handling path, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
