1235 aluminium foil at 0.011 mm is a household and catering gauge, supplied 300 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores, inside the 290 mm to 450 mm width range the household range covers.
The household range is supplied in 8011 and 1235 alloy, from 0.008 mm for a light wrap upwards. 0.011 mm sits in the middle of that span: light enough that a roll still carries a useful length, heavy enough that the sheet does not tear as it comes off the roll under the pull of a dispenser. That balance is why this gauge turns up so often in supermarket programmes rather than at either end of the range.
Surface can be supplied plain or embossed. Embossing is a working choice rather than a decorative one: it stiffens the sheet, keeps the layers on the roll apart so they unwind without snatching, and softens the appearance of creasing as the roll is used. Roll length, core diameter and outer packaging — colour box, plain carton or shrink wrap — can all be specified to order, and the same gauge can be supplied as interleaved pop-up sheets where a dispenser format is wanted.
Typical uses include household rolls, catering and food-service rolls, bakery and takeaway wrapping, and interleaved pop-up sheets.
