Product description
3003 aluminium foil at 0.03 mm is a thin container stock, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores and available plain or lacquered.
The packaging range quotes container stock from 0.03 mm to 0.09 mm. At 0.03 mm this product sits at the thin end of that band, which is the part of the range used where the container is formed once and not expected to carry much load: a shallow tray, a lid, a dish that goes from the line to the shelf without being stacked deep.
3003 is the manganese alloy in the range, and it is chosen at this gauge for a specific reason. At 0.03 mm a plain grade would form a tray but leave it soft enough to bend out of shape when the pack is handled; the manganese in 3003 gives the same gauge more strength without adding thickness, so the wall stays thin and the tray still holds its shape.
What a converter has to settle before the order is not the alloy but the forming. The depth of the draw, the corner radius, whether the tray will be lidded and heat sealed, and how the finished pack will be stacked all point to a different balance of gauge and temper. Those answers decide the specification, and they are cheaper to settle before the coil is slit than after.
Typical uses include thin container stock, formed trays and lids, and shallow food containers.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the forming depth, the width you need and the surface you want, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
