Product description
8011 aluminium foil at 0.08 mm in O temper is container stock for large and deep formed packs, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
Most packaging foil is bought to be as light as the pack allows. This gauge is bought for the opposite reason: the container is big enough, or deep enough, that a thin wall would flex in the hand or collapse under a stack.
8011 is a packaging alloy, and at 0.08 mm it gives a wall that holds its shape without needing a laminate behind it. The O temper keeps enough ductility for a deep cavity and a rolled rim, which is where a harder temper would fail first.
The trade is straightforward. A heavier gauge costs more metal per container, and in exchange the pack needs no support, no secondary tray and no change to the filling line. For a large container that is usually the cheaper route once the whole pack is counted.
What matters on the roll is consistency across the width and a clean face. A stock that varies will draw unevenly around a deep rim, and a face that carries residue will not take print or lacquer evenly after forming.
Typical uses include large formed containers, deep tray stock and heavy catering packs where wall stiffness is the reason for the purchase.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the container drawing and the filling line, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
