Product description
8021 aluminium foil at 0.1 mm in H24 is packaging stock bought for wall strength rather than for barrier alone, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
Most packaging foil decisions are made on the lightest gauge that still holds a barrier. This gauge is the other kind of decision. The pack has to keep its shape through filling, closing, stacking and transport, and the buyer would rather solve that in the metal than in a secondary support.
8021 is the alloy for that job. It carries more strength at the same thickness than a plain packaging grade, and H24 leaves the wall with enough stiffness to resist a knock without turning brittle at the rim.
The consequence is a wall that behaves like a thin sheet while still being supplied and run as foil. Forming is possible, but the tool has to accept a stiffer material than a soft grade would need, and the springback after forming is larger.
What decides a shipment is consistency. A gauge that wanders across the width will draw unevenly and show at the rim. A cut edge that is not clean will interfere with a sealing face, and on a packaging wall the sealing face is the functional part of the whole container.
Typical uses include strong packaging walls, formed containers that must resist handling, and heavy tray stock where a support tray is not wanted.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the container drawing, the closing method and the load the pack must survive, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
