Product description
3004 aluminium foil at 0.09 mm in H24 is container stock at the heavy end, supplied 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
The container range runs from 0.03 mm to 0.09 mm in 8011, 3003 and 3004, in soft O for deep drawing and in H24 where the tray has to keep its shape under load. At 0.09 mm this product is the top of that band, which is a different job from the thin container gauges.
Thin container stock is chosen where the tray is a single-serving portion and the wall can be drawn thin. The heavy end is chosen where the tray has to carry a meal, take a lid, survive a stacking load in a carton and come out of an oven without a fold collapsing. At 0.09 mm the tray stops behaving like a foil and starts behaving like a formed part.
3004 carries more magnesium than 3003 and more than 8011, which is why it is the grade reached for when the wall has to stay stiff after forming. The trade is formability at the corners: a stronger alloy draws less willingly, so the tool radius, the blank holder and the lubricant have to suit the grade rather than the other way round.
H24 is the quarter-hard temper supplied here, which is what keeps the formed tray from springing back when the tool opens. Soft O is available where the tray is deep and the draw is the hard part.
What decides the specification is the tray, not the alloy table: the draw depth, the corner radius, the lid type, the stacking load and whether the tray goes into an oven. Those are the questions that settle gauge and temper, and they are answered against the customer's own tool.
Typical uses include heavy container stock, formed trays and semi-rigid container parts.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the tray drawing, the draw depth and the width, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
