Product description
8011 aluminium foil at 0.025 mm in H18 is a lidding grade, supplied 800 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores, plain or lacquered.
The pharmaceutical range quotes lidding from 0.02 mm to 0.03 mm. At 0.025 mm this product sits in the middle of that band, which is where most cavities land once the pocket depth and the push-through feel have been agreed with the tooling.
The middle of the band is not a compromise between the two ends, it is a different starting point. A 0.02 mm lid follows the cavity closely and peels easily, which suits shallow pockets and a soft gel. A 0.03 mm lid is stiffer, which suits a deeper pocket or a tablet that has to be pushed through without the lid stretching first. At 0.025 mm there is enough body to bridge a deeper cavity and still enough give to peel cleanly, and it is the gauge most often reached for when a pack has to run on an existing tool that was not set up around one extreme or the other.
H18 is the hard temper supplied here. The lid has to stay flat across the roll, feed without wandering and bridge the pocket without sagging into it before the seal is made. Soft temper is available where the lidding line needs the foil to conform instead.
What the gauge does not settle is the seal. The lacquer, the sealant and the printing have to match the substrate they are sealed to, and that is agreed against the customer's own blister or strip design rather than chosen from a table. A lid that measures correctly can still fail at the seal if the coating and the pocket material were never tested together.
Typical uses include blister lidding, strip pack lidding and lid stock for pharmaceutical laminates.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the pocket depth, the substrate and the width, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
