Product description
8079 aluminium foil at 0.006 mm in O temper is the thinnest converter gauge supplied, 1200 mm wide on 76 mm or 152 mm cores.
The packaging range takes converter foil from 0.006 mm in 1235, 8079 and 8011 for laminates, lids, sachets and pouches. At 0.006 mm this product is the floor of that band: the lightest ply that can still do the barrier work inside a structure.
At this gauge the foil is not judged on stiffness, because it has almost none. It is judged on continuity and on how it behaves on the line. A web this thin is where a crease becomes a fold that cannot be flattened, and where the care taken in winding, handling and packing shows up in the yield of the laminating run rather than in the price of the roll.
O temper is fully soft, which is what a laminate wants: the metal conforms at the nip, follows the substrate and folds without cracking. The trade is that the web must be supported and kept under even tension, so the core, the wind and the splice matter as much as the gauge.
Surface condition is agreed rather than assumed. Bare, lacquered and pre-treated finishes are all supplied, and which one is right depends on what the next step does to the foil, not on the thickness.
Where the structure needs stiffness, the foil is doing a different job and a heavier gauge from the same range is the better answer. The gauge is a laminate decision before it is a purchasing decision.
Typical uses include thin barrier plies in laminates and foil-paper structures where a light ply is specified.
Minimum order quantity is 3 MT per size, and loading is from Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai. Send the laminate structure, the width and the line, and we will confirm the specification that fits.
